Happy Friday! I'm so ready to sleep in tomorrow :) Have anything fun planned? Mr. Giraffe and I recently had a date night and went out to dinner. My appetizer was nothing to write home about, but my salad? Amazing! Houlihan's bills it as the Asian Chicken Chop Chop Salad, so I used one of my vegetarian eating-out tricks and asked for the chicken on a separate plate. (Mr. G gave the chicken two thumbs up.) Unfortunately, at $15, it wasn't the most affordable meal, but I plan to make it at home for much cheaper. It's lettuce, cabbage, carrots, snow peas, bell pepper, jicama, peanuts, sesame seeds, and wonton strips or tortilla strips. All fairly normal (except the jicama - this was my first time trying it, tastes like a raw potato), but I never would've thought to combine them myself. (The asparagus was part of my husband's meal that he kindly gifted to me.) I didn't sample the salad dressing - see more of my weird food aversions here - but it was s...
I can smell the sweet scent from here!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorites!
DeleteCool! We've got a smattering of purple hyacinths, a splotch of daffodils, and a mass of tulips (which haven't bloomed yet, but their greenery is gettin' ready). And that's not to mention the beautiful "flowery" weeds that are popping up, LOL.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely! No tulips here (yet) either. Haha, we have a yard full of dandelions so I feel ya on the weeds!
DeleteI love spring flowers. I came home from work yesterday to find 2 yellow tulips blooming in our yard! Obviously they were planted by the previous owners, but it was such a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome surprise! I love tulips :)
DeleteI love these sorts of 'cold weather flowers' We get them growing in parts of Sydney, which is a nice change to the more temperate climate I grew up in 'up north'. That being said, I've never tried my hand at growing any bulbs, and I think we have to refrigerate them in between seasons so they don't get too hot! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the early spring blooms! They make it seems like the warm weather is here to stay. Refrigerating bulbs - how clever!
DeleteNice! I am only at crocuses!
ReplyDeleteThey're a welcome sight too - more to come soon I hope! :)
