Mishmash

I was the sickest I've been in a long time last week. (I'm sure you don't want any gruesome details, ha!) And I felt guilty about neglecting my blog by not posting. Kinda like that week in September when I was too busy.

But feeling guilty is no good. It's not productive or beneficial. So in the future, I'm going to stop worrying about having a post twice a week on set days, or even once a week. I still plan to post on Mondays, but I'm going to embrace a willy-nilly posting schedule if that's what the week calls for :)

In other news, our TV company gave us a free preview of some premium channels to entice us to add them to our basic package. Which has turned quite a few nights and weekends into movie marathons. It's just so easy to find something you want to see when you can browse through hundreds of instant options.

The result? A few cool movies, lots of laughing together, and far, far less reading than normal.

And to wrap up this disjointed post, last week it was finally my turn for the library copy of The Grand Budapest Hotel. It was amazing. Extraordinary acting, storyline, directing, everything. Mr. G and I both adored it.

Seen any good movies lately?

  1. I am hopeless at watching movies. It's always my last priority at the end of a busy day and I just fall asleep! So if I have a DVD or Netflix movie I really want to watch, I do Saturday mornings. I would love to see Grand Budapest Hotel.

  3. I tried to post a comment yesterday but...my silly phone! So Take 2...

I know 'posting schedules' are good for readership, but I rely so heavily on my Feedreader that I don't mind at all when people post. Some of my blog subscriptions go months between posts! I think do what suits your real life first, then the online life second.

I hope you are feeling much better now. I loved 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' and highly recommend it!

  4. Being sick is the pits! I used to dream, when I had little kids and worked full time and studied, that I'd be sick so that I had to recuperate in a hospital or sanatorium. But not with anything that was painful or left me feeling sick. Of course, nothing like that exists - sickness or sanatorium. Being ill reminds me I hate being ill!

I loved the Grand Budapest Hotel. So quirky, funny, suspenseful and sad! A movie I could watch again.

    1. haha, I had a similar fantasy in which I broke my leg - also in a pain free manner, of course - so I could be laid up in the hospital to finish my last college paper!
