My snowbells didn't come up this year, but at least my neighbors are having better luck. I spotted these on a walk this weekend :)

    Cool! We've got a smattering of purple hyacinths, a splotch of daffodils, and a mass of tulips (which haven't bloomed yet, but their greenery is gettin' ready). And that's not to mention the beautiful "flowery" weeds that are popping up, LOL.

    I love spring flowers. I came home from work yesterday to find 2 yellow tulips blooming in our yard! Obviously they were planted by the previous owners, but it was such a nice surprise.

    I love these sorts of 'cold weather flowers' We get them growing in parts of Sydney, which is a nice change to the more temperate climate I grew up in 'up north'. That being said, I've never tried my hand at growing any bulbs, and I think we have to refrigerate them in between seasons so they don't get too hot! So lovely!

Vegetarian Version of Olive Garden's Chicken Gnocchi Soup

I love Olive Garden's Chicken Gnocchi Soup.  Love, love love!  In the past, I would gladly eat two bowls of it, about 5 breadsticks, and take my whole meal home!  But I've had to skip it since becoming vegetarian and that sucks.  So I found a copycat recipe online , and tweaked it to make it vegetarian.  (I am so grateful for copycat sites!) Surprisingly enough (not), the original recipe calls for chicken ... I added boiled potatoes to take their place.  You could probably cook the potatoes right in the soup - just make sure to add them early enough that they finish cooking before everything else goes soft.  That might be too much potato in one soup for some people (is that even possible?).  :)  You could bump up the amounts of the gnocchi or other veggies in the recipe, or add corn, bell peppers, or soy "chicken" if the extra potatoes don't float your boat. 2015 Goals Update

Time for a goals update! Financial   •  Save $300 per pay  - Yes! Easiest goal ever because this was automatically deducted from my paychecks! Personal   •  Attend more than 67 yoga classes  - Nope! I stopped attending yoga classes in June because I was modifying so many of the poses to accommodate my growing belly that it seemed silly to pay to take a class that I wasn't fully participating in. I couldn't find any local prenatal classes so I switched to DVDs from the library until the very end when just cooking dinner felt like a work out. How do pregnant women who already have children do it?? •  Read 52 books  - Yep, a total of 70 . It was a banner year for reading actually, considering almost all those books were read before September. Now baby girl and I listen to audiobooks (electronically downloaded from the library to my cell phone) during some daytime nursing sessions when I want to read something.
