A Winter Walk

Although Sarah's walking challenge ended last month, I'm still trying to fit in an outdoor walk most days but my surroundings have changed slightly since then. I've switched from sneakers to boots:

Our little stream has frozen:

Small hills become a little more difficult to navigate:

And I don't see or hear a whole lot of wildlife (although I notice their tracks!):
looks like a mockingbird to me

Sometimes Dottie joins me for a few minutes, but she's definitely an indoor cat.

My hope is to take pictures in these same places in May and compare. It'll be so green! :)

    1. Thank you! :) It's nice to get out in the fresh air and that keeps me motivated.

  2. I like your photos! Do you know what the tracks are in the first one?

    1. Thank you! Mr. G and I weren't sure about those tracks. Maybe a squirrel (but the line for the tail seems so thin?) or a hopping bird? I need to ask my dad :)

  3. That is great to walk outside. In winter, I want to hibernate, but walking would be better. Your orange kitty looks awesome in the snow.

    1. haha, I love to hibernate too! I only walk outside for about 20-30 minutes, and I come home immediately if anything starts going numb ;) Dottie had so much fun out there - she was jumping around and digging.

  4. So different to where Fiona and I walk! We never get snow here. So lovely that you've kept it up - I have done some long afternoon walks (Thurs and Fri) as well as one on Monday (public holiday). But my morning walks have dried up as I try to stay on top of tiredness :s

  5. Oh, wow, wow, wow. Snow is such a rare treat here. I pray when we go to "The Snowy Mountains" that there will be enough snow to ski. Gorgeous details. Love the tracks.
